There are two fundamental areas to look at when considering makeup for your wedding. Firstly, be true to yourself and your style. With the similar notion Kate Middleton had before her wedding of ensuring she didn’t look too different from what HRH would be familiar with, you want to ensure in years to come your look will still be classic in pictures. If your style is alot edgier, with perhaps more dramatic eyes balanced off with nude lips, then by all means let that feature. So do personalise in every way that works for you. Secondly, let the look work in harmony with your overall style from gown, to shoes to wedding theme. Finally trial the look. There are many times where I see a bride turn up with a look she likes in the magazine or has seen at a celebrity wedding on TV and its not always the look that will best suit her especially with varying skin types, tones and features. So its very important to look at doing a trial with your makeup artist to ensure you master the look that will work for you, your style and your overall wedding concept. Looking into bridal makeup style trends for the coming year, there are three prominent looks that look set to feature.
The Natural Bride
This look seems to be the most requested and thats possibly because it creates that glowing bridal look thats effortless and timeless.
The Hollywood Glam Bride
Hollywood glam has been quite popular over the last year and the look seems set to continue into 2012. I’d say if you’re brave go all the way with fifties style liner and a shade of red for the lips that best compliments your skin tone. Hair styling should be in sync with the style concept (wavy hair down or as an up-do reminiscent of the era) to pull the look off well.
The Metallic Wonder
This is defintely for the brave bride. Works well for an evening affair or with a coloured bridal gown like champagne. Finish off with a gorgeous peach nude cheek/lip colour palette.
